CicLAvia this Sunday! Lot’s to do…

October 5, 2012 in CRAY SHIT, HANNEL ET, Los Angeles, News, Race Events

This Sunday CicLAvia rolls out once again... Miles of LA streets closed off to motor vehicle traffic so that people can walk and ride bicycles and basically reclaim the public space from the machines. The beauty of it all is that people are organizing big events not necessarily on the course, but adjacent to it and after the streets re-open. CicLAvia only lasts from 10am to 3pm but inevitably the mass of cyclists caught up in the euphoria often decide to keep riding and exploring well past the re-opening of the streets. This year I'm heading to ride CicLAvia, have a cup of joe with friends, chillllll in the park and then head on over to the SoCalCross race at the Spring St. Historic park. After that is the Treats and Beats semi annual CicLAvia after party at Señor Fish... Lastly the Fortune 700 Chinatown crit and final race in the series takes place. Megawolf Jon Budinoff is favored for the win, clenched teeth and all. Here's the schedule: 9AM Breakfast, roll outta bed, shhhhower, shhhhhave, shhhhouldnt take too long. 10AM MacArthur Park Roll out... Ride around... wave... more riding.... grab an ice cream cone... Then ride over to Los Angeles Sate Historic Park! Watch racers blast around the park. Drink a few cold ones... watch more racing... THEN Treats and Beats CicLAvia after party just down the street at Señor Fish! Have a few more cold ones... dance and shake that boooo tay. Dance. Shake.... THEN Chris Cono's FORTUNE 700 Finale! Oct. 7th : Chinatown Criterium 45 min each cat. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/128608163 Event registration starts at 4pm. Race start set to begin at 6pm.
